Our History
Jeffery Willis, Jr. is a native of South Bay, Florida, and the son of Tabatha Wilkerson and the late Jeffery Willis, Sr. Like many children today, Jeff grew up in a single-parent home. Despite his and his mother's challenges, she raised him on two solid biblical principles: faith and family. These principles alone carried him through life's most challenging moments.

To reach the level of success Jeff desired, he ventured out on a journey that eventually brought him back home to "Muck City." Built to Last was founded in 2013 by Jeffery Willis after working as a counselor at a juvenile treatment facility. It was there that he observed the behaviors of children. He witnessed how their life situations and circumstances negatively impacted their opportunities for success. Through this experience, he reflected on his early childhood and realized he could have been in similar situations.
He understood that kids' behaviors mainly stem from a lack of structure, unforeseen circumstances, or flawed decision-making. With training and experience gained from previous professions, Jeff decided he wanted to make a difference in the lives of kids from his hometown. Football was a great way to explore these opportunities with kids for a long time. However, in 2016, he picked up his rods, and God gave him a new lane that would impact future generations.
